PARKING INFO

The West Windsor Parking Authority's Permit Parking Program offers regular commuters the opportunity to secure guaranteed parking spaces at the Princeton Junction Station.  Parking permits are issued on a quarterly basis and are valid for the three month period specified on the permit.  A permit holder is not assigned a specific parking space, but is assured a space within the designated permit parking area.

The Authority operates three separate permit parking facilities:  Wallace Road Permit Lot; Vaughn Drive Permit Lot; and the Alexander Road Permit Lot.  For those who do not have quarterly permits, the Authority also operates two daily commuter lots owned and controlled by NJ Transit located on Wallace Road and Station Drive.   Daily commuters without permits may also purchase one-day permits on a daily basis after 6:30 AM at the kiosk in the Vaughn Drive Permit Lot.

Wallace Lot
The first permit parking facility, owned and operated by the West Windsor Parking Authority, is located on the New York bound side of the tracks and is referred to as the Wallace Road permit lot.  Parking permits for this lot are available to residents of West Windsor Township only. Patrons may apply for these permits only if they reside at a West Windsor Township address.

Wallace Road permit holders who give up Township residency must forfeit their parking permits, and they will be transferred into the Alexander Road permit lot at the beginning of the new quarter.

Vaughn Lot
The second permit parking facility, owned and operated by the West Windsor Parking Authority, is located on the Philadelphia bound side of the tracks and is referred to as the Vaughn Drive lot.  Applications for permits to park in this lot will only be accepted from West Windsor Township Residents. Notwithstanding this restriction, from time to time and by invitation only, non-residents may be notified (in order of appearance on the Alexander permit wait list) of one-time opportunities to purchase permits for the Vaughn Drive Lot.

Vaughn Drive lot permit holders who give up Township residency will not be automatically transferred.

Alexander Lot
The third permit parking facility, owned by New Jersey Transit and operated by the West Windsor Parking Authority, is located on the Philadelphia bound side of the tracks and is referred to as the Alexander Road permit lot. Parking Permits for this lot are available to all applicants. Alexander Road permit holders who move into West Windsor Township may retain their Alexander Road permits and assume a position at the bottom of the Wallace Road wait list.

Rideshare
Commuters who car pool to the Princeton Junction Train station on a regular basis may be eligible for a Rideshare permit. You must have at least 2 occupants in the vehicle every time you arrive at the lot. The wait is shorter and it does not jeopardize your position on the wait list for a permit of your own. The designated Rideshare permit parking area is located in the Wallace Road daily parking lot on the New York bound side of the tracks. Rideshare permit holders are assigned a specific numbered parking space within the Rideshare permit parking area. The designated Rideshare spaces will be reserved for the exclusive use of Rideshare permit holders from 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM on business days. After 10:00 AM unused Rideshare spaces are open to the public for daily parking.

To apply for a Rideshare permit, you must print the form from this site, complete and send it to the West Windsor Parking Authority by mail at P.O. Box 58 Princeton Junction NJ 08550, by phone (609) 799-3130 or by email: info@westwindsorpa.com.

Daily Parking
There are two daily lots. One is located on Wallace Road (New York side of tracks), and the other is located off of Station Drive (south bound side of tracks). Both lots tend to sell out by 6:30 AM during the week.

Additional weekday parking is available in the Vaughn Drive Permit Lot located off Alexander Road. Travelers can purchase a daily permit from the attendant in the kiosk at the entrance to this lot from 6:30 AM until 11:30 AM.  After 11:30 AM, travelers must go to the West Windsor Parking Authority office to purchase a daily permit for this lot. Overnight parking is permitted only on weekends.

~ Fines, Penalties, Administrative Fees ~

  • Waitlist Application = $75 ($10 administrative fee plus $65 deposit)
  • Late Payments = First Offense: $50 and Subsequent Offenses: $100
  • Parking Infractions Summons = $60 unless otherwise indicated by ordinance
West Windsor Parking Authority incurs the expense to patrol the parking lots but parking violation fees are set by the Township and payments are made directly to the West Windsor Municipal Court. The fee is the same regardless of the infraction and the Court will not waive the infraction due to user input error. It is extremely important to make sure you enter the correct space number when parking your vehicle.
  • Replacement of lost permit = $30

MARK YOUR CALENDARS TO AVOID MISSING A PAYMENT!

A permit holder's failure to ensure receipt by the Authority of a permit payment by the due date will result in a late fee.  Except for accounts paid in advance, following are the annual schedules of payments. A reminder email will be sent to ALL permit holders approximately 15 days prior to the due date including those who have already paid for their permit.  If in question as to whether you have paid your permit fee, please log into your parking account and View Your Permit.  It will show the expiration date.  This indicates the paid through date.

Box 58, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550.  Please include your permit hang tag # on your check to receive proper credit.  For those using personal on line banking, please ensure your bank mails the check at least 10 days in advance of the due date.

1.  It is the permit holder's responsibility to pay on-line within their account or forward full and timely payment for the coming quarter to the Authority no later than the 15th of the month prior to the new quarter.  If the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, please ensure payment is processed on your account or received in the office prior to the 15th.

2. New Parking permits are forwarded to permit holders on or about the 23rd of the month ending the quarter.

3. Patrons who have not received their parking permits must contact the Authority within two weeks after the start of the new quarter to request a replacement permit at no cost. Patrons contacting the Authority thereafter shall be charged a $30 permit replacement fee.

4. The Authority will accept payment in advance to ensure uninterrupted permit parking privileges; however, payments can be accepted in quarterly increments only.

5. Partial payments cannot be accepted.

6. Late payments received after the 15th of the month ending the current quarter shall result in the following penalties:

First Offense:  A late fee of $50 shall be required to maintain uninterrupted permit parking privileges. The new permit may not be issued until the late fee is received by the Authority.

Subsequent Offense: A late fee of $100 shall be required to maintain uninterrupted permit parking privileges.  A “Subsequent Offense” is defined as any event of late payment occurring within three (3) years of a previous event of late payment.

7.  Patrons wishing to voice concerns or appeal any of the Rules and Regulations for Permit Use may do so in writing or appear before the West Windsor Parking Authority Board at its regularly scheduled meetings held on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 PM in the West Windsor parking Authority Office, 64 Princeton Hightstown Road, Suite 24, Princeton Junction NJ 08550. Please contact the Authority at (609) 799-3130 to be included on the agenda.

REFUND POLICY

WWPA will issue refunds of permit parking fees upon the following conditions:

Refunds of permit fees will be issued within 30 days following WWPA’s receipt of the registered permit holder’s written request, which must be accompanied by return of the permit.

Ensuring WWPA’s receipt of a refund request is the permit holder’s responsibility.

A written request not accompanied by return of the permit is an incomplete request; WWPA will notify the permit holder of such incomplete requests at its earliest convenience but assumes no responsibility for time lost by the permit holder in resubmitting the request.

Refunds will be made only in full month increments. For example if a refund is requested midway through a paid quarter, then only the remaining full month’s fee will be refunded.

In the case of a withdrawal from the parking permit waitlist, the application fee paid at the time of registration on the list will be refunded less the non-refundable administrative fee set forth by the policy in existence at the time of registration.

Refunds will be made by WWPA check payable to the registered permit holder or, in the case of a waitlist withdrawal, the person named on the waitlist. Refunds will not be made to credit or debit card accounts or third parties.
